by Mr.Stefan Wihlborg Visit Date:January 2, 2012 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL EVER!!!!!This hotels location is the most boring place on whole Koh Chang!!There are no beach, only rocks and stones, two swimmingpools, one huge which is definately not necessary for a nice vacation, after my mind. The other pool was operated in an amateur-style, pumps were not going and the whole hotel was managed the same amateurway. It looked like the hotel had been a very nice and luxury place many years ago, but had been closed for a long period and upstarted again, then not the waterfalls, fontains, the reception(the reception now was an old table with a plastic-chair)and there were only breakfast(felt like old and unfresh food every day!!)
in the so called restaurant , no lunch or dinner so that made the place even more silence and boring in the evenings which you not could spend at the hotel. We had booked two bungalows which was full of ants and moskitos & the windows could not close so the first night was a 200 % complete disaster when the wind blowed hard, could not sleep at all!!Day after the managerdisaster, called hotelmanager let us luckily change rooms, but hotwater, lamps & cleaning did not work properly either. We wanted to check out direct day 2, but of course we could not refund any money which was prepaid, and that is something we are never going to repeat, we had to stay all 8 nights we had prepaid and no one was interested in helping us to solve our bad situation, not the hotel and not the bookingcentral Sawadee which I spoke with day 2, really bad service!! We found many other places we could book direct in the place, also over new year without problems, at White Sand Beach Area which is about 2 km away as well as Klong Prao-beach, much cheaper with pool right beside the nice beach for much less money(actually about half of the price compared with this shit-hotel)than we already had paid. We had to walk on the very much trafficed road in complete dark evenings which was actually very dangerous, sometime we took a taxi, but taking taxi 8 days is expensive as well. The summary as you can understand is after numbers of negative experience that we are never going to go back to this hotel and area ever again and we advice all people we speak to to be careful booking in advance as well. Please take all this information seriously, we are no difficult peoples, we are actually very flexible and easy to make happy-bit with Koh Chang Resotel we were definately very, very disappointed!! <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |

very good like all the time, January 16, 2008 by Laurer Martin Visit Date:December 30, 2007 "Its a big hotel with many rooms, but with bad service, so you cannot enjoy your stay there. When we arrived at evening we had to wait about 1 hour, because they need long time to find room for us, and understand only a little English. The breakfast is cold, everyday the same food, you must seat on old chairs and tables. The service at the restaurant ist slowly and bad. In the morning you see at the pool the rest from the parties in the night, they need long time to clean the surrounding of the pool. The reception look like a livingroom, where nobody clean the last days. After 4 days I changed the hotel and would never stay there again, and this for 2900 Bath for one night. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
It worked, which is more than I can say for Koh-Chang.com or eKochang! Thanks., January 13, 2008 by Liam Visit Date:December 29, 2007 "A little disappointing but not a disaster.
The room was clean and new, most things were in good condition.
There was no minibar nor room service available, nor tour booking service. And the was only a heavy curtain on the window, no lace/net, so people walking past could easily see in unless the heavy curtain was drawn. There were no mosquito nets for the bed nor on the windows.
The staff were mostly friendly but not very efficient. Some were temporary staff called in for peak season however.
The restaurant had a reputation for slow service at dinner, but breakfast was entirely satisfactory.
The main drawback was the location. The coast here is rocky, but very gently sloped, so swimming in the sea requires wading 20 meters over rocks. There is no beach to laze on. The compensate with TWO swimming pools - one an 8 lane 50 meter race pool with starting blocks and all... why?
It is beyond walking distance to White Sands or Khlong Phrao beaches, the former is the main focus of beach life, services, shops and accommodation on Koh Chang.
The resort activities are limited - there were a few sea kayaks.
Even considering their regular (not peak) rates, compared to other hotels I stayed at in Thailand, this place was not good value. I didn t hate it but I wouldn t stay again. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
We asked for a discount because we did not get the type of room, that we paid for. The resort told us to go to the booking service (Sawadee) who told us to go to the resort. Bad service. Do not promote this resort !, January 29, 2008 by Lars Peter Ingmann Sørensen Visit Date:December 27, 2007 "We paid for de luxe rooms, but got very basic rooms without view or any luxury.
2 days out of 3 we had no hot water.
The staff are friendly but completely unskilled, they don t speak english, don t now hotel-work, restaurantwork or bar-work, and can make any question or subject a big problem - serving 2 gin-tonics for instance.
There is no beach, the location is remote.
It is very expensive compared to other resorts on Koh Chang
Don t go there <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
Good service with prompt replies and follow up through SMS as usual. , January 3, 2008 by DE WIT Petrus J. H. Visit Date:December 26, 2007 "disappointing resort, only positive feature is the true olympic (!) size swimming pool. No privacy in rooms that are build in rows looking straight out over the pool to an opposite row. Mysteriously none is overlooking the sea..
Location advertised as White Sand Beach, but really not connected to this and a very small beach with a sea entrance full of slippery rocks.
Rock hard mattresses and neck-breaking hard pillows have seen us leave earlier than booked, even though stay was pre-paid.
We had a car, indispensable on Koh Chang and checked out other resorts and will be staying elsewhere next time. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
