December 5, 2011 by Christa MILTON Visit Date:December 2, 2011 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "After complaining about the room, we were given a better one on the top floor and closer to the main area. The view was great and the pool wonderful. The breakfast looks impressive, but not the greatest. Quality of cooking not that good. You have to get your own coffee and usualy it was empty . They cleared the food before 10AM or ran out of things way before. Kata Beach is OK, but too far from airport and taxis are the only way to get around after a certain time. Do not understand why we have to pay 200Baht to use a chair on the beach, <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
by H.J.Prenter Visit Date:December 2, 2011 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Big and very impersonal hotel, great location, ideal for families. Staff OK but not that traditional Thai hospitality except for housekeeping staff. We came, we left and no great memories, guest just another number!" |
Sawadee was perfect. I was a first time user, but will certainly use it again when traveling to Asia., December 4, 2011 by vanderZanden, Gerardina LA Visit Date:November 30, 2011 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "First of all, all beaches in Phuket are public, which I think is great. The hotel is build against the public beach, and you can walk straight into the sea. If you want a 100% seaview from your lounger, you have to rent a beachchair on the public beach (100 bath, about 2.50 euro per day). The hotel has great chairs as well, but only a limited amount overlook the andaman sea, the rest overlook the pool.
Nice big rooms, we had one with a fantactic view over the ocean. However, if you prefer the staff to be friendly and helpful, go to another hotel, you chose this hotel purely for it s location. Expect a lot of Rusians, but they never bother me (I secretly borrow their chairs when they are at the beach, leaving their hotel-towel at the chairs at the pool, haha). Dont eat at the hotel, there are plenty of nice and cheaper restaurants in the close area. On the beach or right across the street outside the hotel. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |

by BIANCA FREDRICKSON Visit Date:June 23, 2011 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "We stayed 9 nights in the grand pool access room so will start with the room: small! very basic floorplan bed t.v bathroom fridge and all the rooms are like that with the same old standard brown red and gold decor. The private pool is connected to a row of others so not very private. The power kept turning off, the door lock was broken, the room service menu was limited and over priced. The rooms were very clean. The hotel itself is in a perfect location right on the beach which is a really nice clean surf beach. The buffet breakfast was the best! make sure you get this included. Dont eat at the hotel! it is over priced crap, there are heaps of restraunts out on the street and they are all perfectly safe to eat at they cook there food very well and very cheap. There is no shopping in kata there are a couple of little stalls selling dvds clothes but they are more expensive than patong and no variety so if your there for shopping just stay in patong. There are 2 pools one is tiny not worth going in and the other has the swim up bar with a cornered off part for kids. STaff are really nice and they have a doctor onsite. not kid friendly ie no kids clubs or activities or kids menu. CHeck-in was quick and simple (sawadee is a fantastic booking site) make sure you book you airport transfers through a private company dont leave it up to the hotel as they cost a lot (1800 baht)and dont offer many shuttles to the airport Kata is about an hour and 20 mins from the airport so look for companys that charge around 800 baht. Travel around by a tuk tuk only pay 350 baht to patong they are hard to barter with in the off season. Patong is a 17 minute trip on the way is an elephant shed so look out for it. Book your day trips out on the street its cheaper. DOnt use the hotels or airport to convert your money better value on the street. 7-11 are expensive use the local family marts. Would only stay at this resort if I was staying in Kata the other hotels are too far from the beach and smell like eggs out the frount. I probley wouldnt go back to Kata because I was sick of getting tuk tuks to patong but I would definatly recommend it for a place to go to. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
by Mei Chiung Liao Visit Date:June 6, 2011 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "We are paying Deluxe Room for 2 nights, when we check in they give us standard room without seaview, and even tell us if we want to upgrade we have to pay extra 1000 bht. After I recheck internet, and print out Confirmation letter again, they just admitt their fault, and upgrade my room to swim poor access but still no seaviews. Feel very bad about this hotel, the breakfast quality are also very poor. won t stay in this hotel again. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
<span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
by Jason Moon Visit Date:August 31, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "We weren t sure what to expect at Kata Beach Resort after reading a few negative blogs before booking. It is a large resort, but it is well maintained, clean and the room was good. Best of all is the position! There are only a few beach front reorts at Kata, with most resorts being across the road or on the hill! We were pleasantly suprised with the KBR and enjoyed our stay. Good value for money!" |
by Tee Chin Chia Visit Date:June 21, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "It really depends on what you want. I went to Patong Beach during my visit, I found it too crowded. If you want a more quiet place to enjoy the great beach, sea and sun.. Kata Beach is a great place." |
by Andrew Lee Visit Date:June 21, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "I did not enjoy my stay at the Kata Beach Resort. Beginning with check in, the only english the receptionist knew was moment please and there was no adult supervision beyond this to assist. They will not be able to assist you with any needs should one arise regardless of how simple or complex. The house keeping staff yell down the hallways each morning during their rounds. Very annoying.
The hotel itself is average, having never been touched in respects to modernization or remodeling since new. Its a bit dark.
The breakfast is average but finding a table with silverware and someone to serve you is below average. Restaurant service is poor at best and the food is average as well but a bit over priced.
Your only paying more for this hotel because it rest directly on the beach. If you don t mind a short walk there are better places for far less. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
by Ariel Kolodziej Visit Date:June 12, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "We stayed at Kata Beach Resort for 2 nights. The hotel itself is situated at such a wonderful beach. You can enjoy the beach view but make sure you need to go there early because they are occupied quickly. Staff were helpful and it was memorable to stay there." |
by Nathika Saetia Visit Date:May 7, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Overall is good. Kata has a nice beach (better than Patong Beach) and the resort is on the beach. The location is perfect. Tuk Tuk and Taxi are nearby so it is very convenience." |
Booking service I cannot fault as usual, February 23, 2010 by Michael C Martyn Visit Date:February 19, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Perhaps I expected too much.
I had the impression this used to be a good place to stay but not now.
Food and general standards of service were not good and in my opinion over-priced. Too expensive. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
by YULIA KORELINA Visit Date:January 28, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Отдыхали в Kata Beach Resort с 17 по 28 января.
<span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" |
